A Study on Hazard Mitigation of Alkali Metals in Blast Furnace and Alkaline Drainage from Slag
Alkali metals present in diverse raw materials utilized in blast furnace smelting pose a significant threat, imposing severe constraints on the efficiency and stability of blast furnace production. This paper delves into the influence of alkali metals on the fuel performance, smelting reactions, and furnace lining. It proposes corresponding preventive measures against alkali metal hazards, encompassing approaches such as raw material management, process control, and the integration of additives. In response to the challenge posed by alkali metals, this paper advocates alkaline slag disposal as a primary preventive measure, analyzing the impact of various slag-making regimes on alkaline disposal and the nuanced variations in alkaline elimination under differing conditions. In production, enterprises need to make the best discharge plan according to the specific alkaline drainage situation,in order to stabilize the quality of hot metal and protect the alkaline drainage.
