The 50 000 m3 large crude oil storage tank at Weizhou Terminal in Guangxi Province was insulated with rock wool.During typhoons,rain water was poured into the insulation layer through the gap between the protective layers,which corroded the outer wall of the tank and the insulation support ring.According to the characteristics of nano-ceramic thermal insulation coating,the application of nano-ceramic thermal insulation coating to replace rockwool thermal insulation on the outer surface of large crude oil storage tank was studied.The thermal insulation effect of nano-ceramic thermal insulation coating on the surface was consistent with that of rockwool through field measurement.The application of nano-ceramic thermal insulation coating in large crude oil storage tanks can directly check the corrosion of the outer wall of the tank and improve the safety of the storage tank operation.
