CFD Simulation Study on Methane Leakage in Gas Power Plants
Gas power plants require a large number pipelines for methane transportation.During long-term operation, due to pipeline corrosion and other reasons, methane leakage may occur in the factory, causing the methane concentration in the environment to reach the explosive concentration. The CFD numerical simulation method is used to simulate the concentration distribution of methane leakage at different locations under the conditions of heat dissipation and ventilation in a certain gas power plant in Shanxi, while provided an effective theoretical basis for the prevention and control of methane leakage under heat dissipation and ventilation conditions.Research has found that the changes in wind fields at different locations within the factory building have a significant impact on the distribution of methane gas leakage concentration. For the central position of the factory building, methane gas moves downward and is discharged by mechanical exhaust fans. For positions close to the doors on both sides of the factory building, methane gas moves towards the upper part of the factory building under multiple actions, resulting in the highest concentration of methane gas near the roof of the factory building, except for the vicinity of the leakage port. This study provides a quantitative reference for the layout of methane leakage alarms in gas power plants under heat dissipation and ventilation conditions.
