Electrochemical Synthesis of Ethyl(9H-xanthene-9-carbonyl)glycinate
The glycine ethyl ester structure, serving as a key structural motif and multi-purpose building block for many bioactive compounds, has been the focus of research. In this study, the target product was synthesized through electrocatalytic acylation of oxanthracene and ethyl isocyanoacetate using green and sustainable electricity as the energy source. The structure of the product was characterized using 1HNMR,13CNMR,and HRMS.The effects of different electrodes, electrolytes, currents, solvents, and temperatures on the yield were investigated. This method offers a distinctive approach for synthesizing glycine ethyl ester structures with a high yield and easy access to raw materials.
