Method of Simultaneous Determination of Carbon,Hydrogen and Nitrogen Elements in Water Plant Sludge by Element Analyzer
Sludge is the main byproduct of water plants, which contains organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other resources that can be reused. The content of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen can indirectly reflect the value of sludge resource reuse. Therefore, the paper studied the determination of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen content in sludge using elemental analyzer. The effects of sample size, halides, sulfides and sample wrapping methods on the determination of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen were discussed.A method for determining carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen in sludge using elemental analyzer was established. The experimental results show that when the sample size is 0.10 g,0.10 g calcium oxide is used as the absorbent, and 0.05 g vanadium pentoxide is used as catalyst,it can effectively solve the interference of about 57%of fluorine, chlorine and sulfur in sludge samples on carbon and hydrogen determination;Using tin bags instead of tin foil to wrap the sample can improve the stability of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen measurements; The quantification limits for carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen are 0.009 2%,0.078%and 0.037%respectively.The method was applied to the measurement of sludge samples,as well as soil and coal standard samples, and the precision of each element was less than 5.0%.The measurement accuracy of standard samples was good.
