Research Progress on Hydrate-based Technology for CO2 Marine Sequestration under the Background of"Dual Carbon"
This paper focuses on the progress of CO2 marine sequestration, with a particular emphasis on the current state for CO2 hydrate sub-seabed sequestration and the CH4 displacement in natural gas hydrates by CO2.Firstly,the fundamental principles and formation conditions of CO2 hydrate marine sequestration technology are discussed, along with an in-depth analysis of the influence of inorganic salt concentration in seawater and sediment porosity on the formation kinetics of CO2 hydrates.Secondly, factors affecting CO2 displacement in natural gas hydrates are further explored, including temperature, pressure conditions, mixture gas and seabed sediment. Finally, the challenges and issues in the technical and environmental aspects of CO2 ocean sequestration are discussed, and the urgency and application prospects for the development of CO2 sequestration technology are also prospected.
