Combined Electrokinetic Remediation of Cadmium,Nickel and Lead Contamination in Soil by Leaching
The aim of this paper was to investigate the effect of four drenching agents, deionized water, nitric acid, citric acid and EDTA,on heavy metal Cd,Ni and Pb contaminated soils,to screen out the optimal drenching agents, and to determine the optimal voltage and remediation time for electrokinetic remediation. The removal rate of heavy metals by four different drenching agents was compared by drenching experiments, and it was found that EDTA showed better removal effect with 70.18%,67.17%and 65.34%for heavy metals Cd,Ni and Pb,respectively. The optimal voltage of 1.5 v/cm and the optimal repair time of 5 d were screened in the electrodynamic repair experiments.Experiments combining the optimum drenching solution(EDTA)with the optimum electrokinetic remediation conditions(1.5 V/cm,5 d)showed that the combined technique removed 79.91%,72.94%and 75.98%of the heavy metals Cd,Ni and Pb from the soil. This study provides an efficient and environmentally friendly joint remediation method for soil heavy metal pollution management, which has higher value of application.
