A Brief Analysis of the Upgrading of Sewage Treatment Plants under the Carbon Neutrality Goal
Under the carbon neutrality goal, this paper analyzes the process treatment status after the upgrading of a sewage treatment plant in central China. The COD,NH3-N,TN,and TP contents were reduced from 138.72 mg/L,15.17 mg/L,21.24 mg/L,and 1.97 mg/L to 15.16 mg/L,0.38 mg/L,11.88 mg/L,and 0.22 mg/L.The adoption of a multi-stage AAO process and multi-point water inlet not only improves the removal efficiency of pollutants but also fully utilizes the organic carbon source in the influent to reduce costs. After the process improvement, the average monthly treatment capacity increased by approximately 21%,while the average monthly comprehensive power consumption decreased by approximately 25%,significantly reducing carbon emissions. However, there are still some deficiencies in energy recovery and carbon neutrality.Due to the high summer temperature and large temperature difference between summer and winter in the local area, refrigeration and heating are rigid demands in summer and winter, and the recovery and utilization of sewage residual heat energy can be considered. At the same time, solar photovoltaic panels can be installed on structures to collect solar energy and convert it into electrical energy to supply the plant's production and operation, further compensating for energy to achieve energy self-sufficiency.
