Current Status and Countermeasures of Hazardous Chemicals Management and Use in University Laboratories
In the utilization of teaching and research laboratories in institutions of higher learning,there are stringent requirements for the safe management and standardized use of hazardous chemicals.Nevertheless,in reality,issues persist,including inadequate attention from management teams,insufficient training for operators,shortages in laboratory construction investments,and incomplete regulatory systems.These problems have repeatedly led to serious and major campus safety incidents,inflicting significant damage on the lives and health of laboratory personnel,as well as the socio-economic landscape.Drawing upon past laboratory management experiences,this paper proposes effective countermeasures aimed at comprehensively strengthening the safe management and use of hazardous chemicals in laboratories by enhancing the professionalism of personnel,strengthening access thresholds,improving laboratory environments,refining management systems,establishing a robust hierarchical management system,and strictly fulfilling safety responsibilities.
