Performance Evaluation and Field Application of a Multifunctional Proppant
The performance and field application of a multifunctional proppant were evaluated from three aspects:suspension, drag reduction, and hydrolysis, which are beneficial for improving hydraulic fracture far-end support and good compatibility.Experiments have shown that proppants can be uniformly suspended in clean water without the use of external thickeners, with a static suspension rate of ≥ 60%,which is much higher than the suspension rate of conventional proppants. After the outer layer of the support agent is coated with film and hydrated,it has a composite drag reduction effect, which can achieve drag reduction through clear water configuration. At higher temperatures, the composite proppant mixture accelerates its own hydration, and the viscosity after hydrolysis is ≤ 3 mPa·s.This multifunctional proppant has been fully applied in unconventional reservoirs in medium and deep layers, and has shown good effects in reducing wellhead pumping pressure and increasing single well production.
