HPLC Method for Determination of Illegal Addition of Etomidate in E-cigarettes
Etomidate,a controlled psychotropic substance, has been illegally added to e-cigarettes and evolved into a new type of drug, frequently appearing in cases of crackdowns on drug abuse and trafficking.Previous research on related testing techniques has mainly focused on the determination of etomidate in biological samples of criminals who smoke"intoxicating e-cigarettes."This article describes a method for determining the illegal addition of etomidate in e-cigarettes,providing strong technical support for the judgment of illegal trafficking crimes. The experiment employed a common C1 8 column, using a mixture of acetonitrile and 0.01 mol/L ammonium phosphate solution as the mobile phase, with a column temperature set at 30 ℃ and a detection wavelength of 243 nm,to conduct quantitative analysis of etomidate in e-cigarettes.Under these chromatographic conditions, the linear range, average recovery, limit of quantitation, limit of detection, stability, and robustness of etomidate were investigated. The experimental results demonstrate that this method exhibits good performance and high accuracy, making it suitable for determining the illegal addition of etomidate in e-cigarettes.This paper aims to provide a reference for laboratory testing techniques, with the hope of playing a positive role in combating new types of drugs.
