Study on the Passivation Effect of Attapulgite on Cd-Contaminated Paddy Fields
The effect of soil passivation remediation was studied by adding two different proportions of attapulgite(1%and 2.5%)to experimental fields with low Cd contamination. The results showed that the addition of 1%or 2.5%attapulgite effectively reduced the effective Cd content in soil and Cd content in rice. With the increase of the added proportion, the passivation effection of the effective Cd in the soil gradually increased, among which the effect of 2.5%attapulgite was more significant.Compared with the control group without attapulgite, the Cd content in early season rice decreased by 55.78%and in late season rice by 82.04%.However,it should be noted that despite the reduced effective Cd content in the soil, the effective Se content in the soil increased, and the Se content in the early rice also significantly increased by 25.49%and 31.37%respectively.This indicates that the Se element was successfully enriched while reducing the Cd content, which achieved the effect of Se-rich and Cd-reduction in the early rice. After comparing the passivation effect of different proportions in different seasons, the results show that 2.5%attapulgite is more suitable for farmland soil remediation. This provides a useful reference for improving the quality of soil quality and farm produce.
