Progress in the polymerization of isoprene and butadiene by rare earth organometallic complexes
Isoprene and butadiene monomer polymers have excellent properties and occupy an important position in the rubber industry.Rare earth metal organic complexes can effectively catalyze the selective polymerization of conjugated dienes.Rare earth metal complexes containing cyclopentadienyl ligands or multi dentate non cyclopentadienyl ligands have gradually attracted attention as an emerging catalyst. This article reviews the research progress in cyclopentadienyl rare earth metal catalysts and non cyclopentadienyl rare earth metal catalysts in the cis 1,4,trans 1,4 selectivity, and 3,4 selectivity polymerization of conjugated dienes. The current challenges faced in this field were summarized and the prospects for future development were provided.
