Efficient preparation of two-dimensional vermiculite flakes based on thermal expansion-ultrasonic stripping method
Two-dimensional vermiculite sheets(2D-V)have shown great application potential in the fields of envi-ronmental governance, energy storage and catalysis due to their excellent thermal stability, adsorption performance and ion exchange capacity. In this paper, the optimum conditions for the preparation of 2D-V by thermal expansion-ultrasonic stripping method were discussed. The expanded and exfoliated vermiculite were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, physical adsorption test,X-ray diffraction and other methods. The results show that the opti-mum thermal expansion temperature is 700℃and the expansion time is 300 s.At this time, the expansion rate of vermiculite can reach 6.32 times of the original volume, which provide a good structural basis for ultrasonic stripping. After high-speed stirring for 30 min, ultrasonic treatment for 180 min,and standing precipitation for 12 h,2D-V is successfully prepared with a yield of 22.5%.The prepared 2D-V has ultra-thin thickness, large specific surface area and mesoporous structure. The research results provide an economical and feasible new method for the efficient prepa-ration of 2D-V.
