Titanium has many excellent properties and is widely used in many fields. However, due to the difference of physical and chemical properties between titanium and steel,a large number of brittle gap phases will appear during the welding of the two metals, resulting in the failure of the welded joint. In order to solve the joint failure caused by metal gap phase, the fusion welding of titanium and steel should be avoided as far as possible. The use of reasonable intermediate layer is an effective way to avoid the formation of metal gap phase, and appropriate connection mode and process are effective means to improve the service performance of the joint. This paper discusses the research status of titanium/steel dissimilar metal connection from the perspectives of pressure welding, high energy density welding, brazing and plug welding. The future research and development direction of titanium/steel dissimilar metal connection is prospected.
