In the context of"carbon neutrality",LNG storage tanks,as important storage equipment for low temperature liquefied natural gas, have gradually developed towards large-capacity and high-efficiency in recent years. Moreover, the construction period of low-temperature storage tanks has been further compressed, bringing more challenges to the quality and cost of construction.Welding is an important process in the construction of low-temperature storage tanks, and directly affects the economy of LNG storage tank construction.Different welding methods directly affect the cost of welding labor, welding material procurement, and welding equipment costs, which directly affecting project construction costs.Taking 270,000 m3 9%Nisteel LNG full-containment tank as an example, three typical parts including steel dome, pressure ring, and inner tank are selected for comparative analysis of the economy of different welding methods. The analysisindicate that the application of gas shielded melting welding, argon arc motor welding, and submerged arc welding reduce construction costs and improve economy.
