In order to improve the service life of steam dryer coils,WC coated coils were prepared by supersonic spraying technology.To obtain the surface condition and bonding strength of the coil,the micrographic detection and tensile test were carried out.To predict the service life of WC coated coil,a coil erosion model was established by FLUENT which included the test value of wall hardness.We compared the cloud map with the field wear picture.It is found that the higher part of simulation results is consistent with the wear part in the field.This phenomenon shows the rationality and authenticity of the simulation model.After unified dimensional treatment of the calculated erosion rate and the model,the erosion wear life of the coil is predicted.The results show that the observed porosity of the coated coil is less than 0.1%,the thickness is greater than 90 um,and the surface hardness is greater than 1 000 HV.This shows that the coil spraying process of supersonic spraying has good reliability.The simulation results show that when the coil works in practice,the erosion rate reaches the maximum near the incident Angle of 35° and the maximum value is 1.92×10-7 kg/(m2·s).According to the erosion rate,the service life of coil in the ultimate working condition is predicted to reach 36 718 750 s,which is about 145%-167%higher than that before spraying.The predicted life under normal condition is 41 592 920 s,which is about 154%-177%higher than that before spraying.
