The wire mesh gas liquid separation components are widely used in petrochemical industry and other fields.In this paper,the research progress on the structure and properties of mesh gas liquid separation components in recent years is reviewed.Firstly,the separation mechanism of the mesh gas-liquid separation element is described,and the calculation model of separation efficiency and pressure drop is summarized.The effects of operating conditions and mesh structure parameters on mesh separation efficiency and pressure drop were investigated,and the secondary entrainment mechanism of mesh gas-liquid separation elements was revealed from the two aspects of mesh liquid holdup and droplet impact on the mesh wire.The influence mechanism of gas velocity,liquid volume percentage and mesh structure parameters on secondary entrainment was analyzed.The structure characteristics and the combination form with other separation methods of typical wire mesh gas liquid separation elements used in petrochemical industry are analyzed.The development direction of mechanism research,structure design and performance optimization of wire mesh gas liquid separation elements are summarized.
