Preparation and Application of Hybrid Anti-Drip Agents for Polycarbonate
A hybrid anti-drip agent(X-PAD)was prepared using polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)as the core, carbon nanotubes as the mantle material, and styrene acrylonitrile copolymer(SAN)as the shell material. The effect of X-PAD on the flame retardancy and thermal stability of polycarbonate(PC)materials was studied. The results showed that based on the PC standard spline formula, the addition of X-PAD increased the limit oxygen index of the spline by 8.5%,and the flame retardant level was increased from V-1 to V-0.Moreover,the flame retardant ability and thermal stability of X-PAD were better than those of commercially available anti drip agents DB105.X-PAD is more suitable for electronic devices with more stringent application requirements in fields such as electric vehicles, charging stations, and data centers, and has broad prospects.
