Determination of Total Iodine in Organic Iodine-Containing Waste Liquid by Oxygen Flask Combustion-ICP-OES
A method for the determination of total iodine content in organic iodine-containing waste liquid by oxygen flask combustion-inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES)was established. The influence of the existing form of iodine on the test results was discussed.10 mL 0.5%sodium hydroxide(NaOH)solution and 0.5 mL sodium hypochlorite(NaClO)solution with available chlorine of 3%were used as the mixed absorption liquid of oxygen flask combustion.Using ICP-OES,the analysis wavelength of iodine was 178.215 nm,the plasma flow rate was 12 L/min,the atomization gas flow rate was 0.5 L/min,the plasma power was 1 300 W,and the sample flow rate was 1.5 mL/min.The results showed that the linear correlation coefficient of iodine was high, the sample recovery ranged from 98.57%to 101.56%,and the relative standard deviation was 0.68%.The result indicates that the method has high accuracy and good precision.
