Comparison and Analysis of Pre-Cooling Process of Cryogenic Propane Storage Tanks
Based on the same pre-cooling scheme and pre-cooling speed requirements for cryogenic propane storage tanks, the cooling differences between the inner tank bottom, inner tank wall and annular space of two cryogenic propane storage tanks during the pre-cooling process are compared. The effects of various factors such as pre-cooling medium flow rate, phase composition of pre-cooling medium after vacuum flash evaporation, tank foundation settlement and filling of insulation materials in the annular space are analyzed. The cleanliness of the pipeline affects the pre-cooling medium flow rate, and the magnitude of the medium flow rate directly affects the pre-cooling speed and pre-cooling time. The settlement of the tank foundation directly affects the levelness of the inner tank bottom, causing different positions of liquid accumulation at the tank bottom. The uniformity of the insulation material filling in the annular space directly affects the temperature at the bottom of the annular space. These factors cause differences in the pre-cooling process between the two cryogenic propane storage tanks. This paper provides reference for stable pre-cooling operation of similar large cryogenic storage tanks.
