Discussion on the Calculation of Axial Deformation of Shell of Kettle Type Heat Exchanger
The kettle type heat exchanger,as one of the important types of heat exchangers,has a wide range of applications."Heat Exchangers"(GB/T 151-2014),as an important standard for heat exchanger design in China,provides calculation methods for various types of heat exchangers.However,this standard assumes that the shell of each type of heat exchanger is a cylinder with a constant diameter,which is not applicable to the design of kettle type heat exchangers.In this paper,the eccentric conical shell of the kettle heat exchanger shell is equivalent to a right conical shell.Based on membrane theory,the axial deformation of the shell under pressure load is derived,and the general expression for the axial deformation of the shell is obtained.By adjusting the coefficients related to the shell stiffness in the standard according to the results derived in this paper,the kettle type heat exchanger can be designed according to the methods in the standard.
