Preparation Of Water-Soluble Imidazoline Corrosion Inhibitor from Gutter Oil and its Corrosion Inhibition Performance Study
An imidazoline corrosion inhibitor was prepared using gutter oil and diethylenetriamine as raw materials. When the molar ratio of gutter oil to diethylenetriamine is 1:1.2,the cyclization temperature is 140℃,the time is 3 hours, the amidation temperature is 150~160℃,the time is 2 hours, the quaternization temperature is 140℃,and the reaction time is 3-4 hours,a water-soluble imidazoline corrosion inhibitor can be synthesized. The corrosion inhibition effect was evaluated by static coupon weight loss method and electrochemical polarization method. The results showed that in 1 mol/L hydrochloric acid medium, the best corrosion inhibition performance was achieved when the concentration of the inhibitor was 100 mg/L.The corrosion inhibition efficiency of the corrosion inhibitor stored for one day can reach up to 99.02%.After 6 months of storage, the corrosion inhibition efficiency of the corrosion inhibitor decreased to 95.76%,which still meets industrial requirements well. The electrochemical polarization curve shows that the imidazoline corrosion inhibitor prepared by this method is a cathode type corrosion inhibitor.
