A New Technology for Recovering Alkali from DMTO Alkali-Washing Wastewater
A new recovery technology based on special membrane module was proposed to recover Na2CO3 and NaOH from DMTO alkali-washing wastewater in this paper.Recovery effect was studied and verified via pilot-scale devices by choosing a DMTO enterprise in Inner Mongolia as example. The results showed that the pre-treatment process, combined of air flotation and ceramic membrane, could remove 99.8%of oil in water, which effectively guarantee the stable operation of alkali-recovery membrane module.Recovery rate of alkali was calculated as 73.4%,and 19.12 kg Na2CO3 and 1.77 kg NaOH could be recovered from per ton of wastewater through the two-stage alkali-recovery technology. The recycling of waste alkali via this technology would create considerable benefits for enterprise by saving large amounts of pharmaceutical costs.
