Design and Calculation of a Larger Diameter Reinforced Circular Flat Cover
Flat covers are widely used as end caps or bottom plates for atmospheric and low-pressure vessels in chemical equipment due to their simple structure and convenient manufacturing. However, the flat cover has the disadvantage of having a much larger calculated wall thickness under the same pressure and diameter conditions compared to convex heads such as ellipses. In order to reduce the thickness of the flat cover, the method of setting reinforcement ribs on the flat cover is often used in engineering.GB 150.3-2011"Pressure Vessels Part 3:Design"provides a calculation method for reinforced circular flat covers. However, for circular flat covers with larger diameters and subjected to certain pressure, the calculated thickness of the cover plate is still too thick.Provides a reinforcement scheme and calculation method for larger diameter circular flat covers for reference in engineering design.
