Feasibility Study of Agreements for Pre-Treated Slaughterhouse Wastewater to Enter Wastewater Treatment Plants
Slaughterhouse wastewater is characterized by high concentrations of organic matter, with large volumes and high pollutant concentrations.Direct discharge into the water environment would cause serious pollution.Mature technologies are available for treating slaughterhouse wastewater, allowing it to meet discharge standards before being released into surrounding water bodies. However, the treatment process decomposes nutrients in the wastewater, resulting in the wastage of water resources. This study theoretically analyzes the feasibility of agreements to further treat slaughterhouse wastewater in wastewater treatment plants after pre-treatment,considering both policy and technology aspects. The agreement to direct slaughterhouse wastewater to wastewater treatment plants improves the biodegradability and nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency of the sewage in the treatment plants. This approach reduces the construction and operation costs of slaughterhouse wastewater treatment stations and minimizes the addition of carbon sources to wastewater treatment plants, demonstrating the unified environmental and economic benefits.
