Application Research of Polyacrylonitrile in Graphite Negative Electrode Binder for Lithium-Ion Batteries
Adhesive adheres to electrode components to maintain structural integrity, and although its content is low,it plays an irreplaceable role in batteries. This study focuses on the application of new polyacrylonitrile binders in graphite negative electrodes and analyzes their composition.Firstly, the electrolyte stability, thermal stability, electrode microstructure, and electrochemical performance, such as cycling performance and storage performance,of the adhesive were tested. After comparing with commercial binders such as styrene butadiene rubber(SBR)and hydroxymethyl cellulose(CMC),it can be concluded that the advantages of polyacrylonitrile not only include low electrolyte absorption and stable thermal performance, but also the electrodes prepared with this binder exhibit excellent flexibility, bonding strength, and electrochemical properties.Even at low levels of addition,it can still meet commercial processing needs, demonstrating enormous potential for commercial applications.
