Polygonatum sibiricum Red is a kind of Chinese herbal medicine that can be used as medicine and also edible.Many active ingredients in it are beneficial to human body.Many components such as protein and polysaccharide have various biological activities and have high medicinal value.Objective:To study and detect the components of Polygonatum sibiricum Red which is processed by nine steamed and nine dried,and compare the difference between artificial cultivation and wild Polygonatum sibiricum Red.Methods:The content of protein was determined by Coomassie brilliant blue method.The content of polysaccharide was determined by sulfuric acid-anthrone method.The content of fat was determined by Soxhlet extraction method.The content of metal ions in Polygonatum sibiricum Red was determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.Results:The contents of water,protein,fat and polysaccharide in wild Polygonatum sibiricum Red were higher than those in the artificial cultivation's.Conclusion:By comparing the protein,fat and polysaccharide in artificial and wild Polygonatum sibiricum Red,the quality of wild Polygonatum sibiricum Red is better than the artificial cultivation's.The content of zinc is much higher than that of Na,K and other elements,and zinc is an essential element for the human body,which may be one of the reasons why Polygonatum sibiricum Red is beneficial to the human body.
