A Study on the Influence of High Chlorine River Water in the Estuary Area on the Determination of Chemical Oxygen Demand
Chemical oxygen demand(CODcr)is an important indicator for measuring water pollution, and its accuracy is influenced by various factors. For estuaries, the interference of chloride ions on CODcr measurement values is significant.Research has shown that chloride ions in estuarine water can sometimes reach up to 10 000 mg/L,and the determination of CODcr in such river water using standard methods often results in significant positive errors.Through the study of the relationship between chloride ion interference and oxidant concentration in the determination of CODcr in high chloride river water,it was found that oxidant concentration has a significant impact on the degree of chloride ion interference. The idea of using segmented potassium dichromate method to determine CODcr in high chloride river water was proposed based on the research results, and this idea was verified.
