Assay Determination of Vitamin B6 with Alkalinity Potassium Permanganate Three Wavelength Spectrophotometric Method
The oxidation-reduction colouring reaction can occur between potassium permanganate and vitamin B6 in NaOH medium,which produced green potassium manganate with two maximum absorption wavelength at 420 nm and 600 nm.At the same time,this oxidation-reduction reaction makes potassium permanganate discoloring,and the discolor maximum absorption wavelength was 525 nm.Based on these,a new method for assay of vitamin B6 with potassium permanganate three wavelength visible spectrophotometric method was proposed,and the linear range of the vitamin B6 concentration was 2-14 mg·L-1,2-14 mg·L-1 and 2-18 mg·L-1 at above three wavelength,respectively.The proposed method was applied for assay of vitamin B6 in bulk drug,tablet and injection,and the results were accordance with the determination data of ultraviolet spectrophotometric method.
