Industrial Application and Optimization of Isobutene Oligomerization Catalyst in Mixed C4
The isobutene oligomerization catalyst was analyzed and compared from several aspects, such as operating parameters, composition of mixed C4,water content of mixed C4 and catalyst itself. It was found that the isobutene oligomerization catalyst with ion exchange resin contained a certain amount of water, and the water content of the catalyst itself and the water content of the mixed C4 were the key factors affecting the catalyst performance under the condition that the operating parameters and the composition of the mixed C4 didn't change much. The lower the water content of the catalyst was,the greater the volume expansion rate was after meeting water, and the more serious the crushing and pulverization of the catalyst was, which eventually leads to the degradation of the catalyst performance and the damage of the reactor. The higher the water content of the catalyst was,the smaller the volume expansion rate was after meeting water, the less easily the catalyst was broken, and the smaller the influence of temperature on the expansion rate of the catalyst was.Too much water content in the catalyst will affect the conversion of isobutene. In order to control the expansion rate of the catalyst and ensure the activity of the catalyst,it was best to control the water content of the catalyst at 20%~25%,and the water content in the mixed C4 below 0.05%,so as to prevented the entrainment of water and caused the expansion and breakage of the catalyst. After optimization, the catalyst can run stably for about 2 years, and the isobutene content at the outlet of the reactor was below 0.5%.
