Analysis the Efficacy and Safety of Risperidone Combined with Sodium Valproate in the Treatment of Aggressive Behavior in Schizophrenia
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of risperidone combined with sodium valproate in the treat-ment of schizophrenia with aggressive behavior. Methods 86 schizophrenia patients with aggressive behavior admitted to the Rudong County Fourth People's Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were conveniently selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 43 cases in each group,us-ing a random number table method. The control group was treated with risperidone, while the observation group was treated with sodium valproate in addition to the control group.Compared the efficacy, improvement of symptoms and aggressive behavior, and medication safety between two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the ob-servation group was 93.02%,which was higher than 76.74%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of the Brief Psychi-atric Rating Scale and the Modified Overt Aggression Scales between the two groups of patients(both P>0.05).How-ever,at 6 and 12 weeks of treatment, these scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the in-cidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Risperidone combined with sodium valpro-ate can improve the condition, symptoms and aggressive behavior of schizophrenia, and does not increase adverse reac-tions,and has high safety.
