Effects of Acupuncture,Massage and Cervical Traction on Shoulder Pain and Cervical Spine Function in Patients with Cervical Spondylotic Radicu-lopathy
Objective To investigate the effects of acupuncture, massage and cervical traction on shoulder pain and cervical function in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods 60 confirmed CSR patients from Xiamen Fifth Hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 were randomly selected as the study subjects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 30 cases in each group using a random number table method. The control group only received cervical traction treatment, while the observation group received acupuncture and massage treatment under the treatment conditions of the control group. The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome, shoulder pain, cervical function, and recurrence rate of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the scores and total scores of various traditional Chinese medicine syndromes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment, the observation group had lower scores for shoulder pain symptoms(Visual Analog Scale,VAS)compared to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the Cervical Spine Dysfunction Index Scale(NDI)score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the physiological curvature of the cervical spine was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the observation group after 3 months of treatment(0)was lower than that of the control group(20.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.629,P=0.031).Conclusion Acupuncture, massage and cervical traction therapy can more effectively relieve the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome of CSR patients, reduce the symptoms of shoulder pain, promote the recovery of cervical spine function, and reduce the recurrence rate.
