Effect of Tension-free Hernia Repair on Intraoperative Blood Loss and Recurrence Rate in Patients with External Abdominal Hernia
Objective To explore the effect of tension-free hernia repair on patients with external abdominal hernia. Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with abdominal external hernia who received surgical treatment in Heze Hos-pital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2018 to April 2023 were retrospectively selected.According to differ-ent surgical methods, they were divided into two groups, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional hernia repair, and the observation group was treated with tension-free hernia repair. The surgical indi-cators,inflammatory level, pain and recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results The operation re-lated indexes of the observation group were better than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of interleukin-10 and C-reactive protein in the two groups increased after operation, and the observation group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The pain scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group on the day after surgery,1 and 3 d after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The recurrence rate(0)and compli-cation rate(2.50%)of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(10.00%,15.00%),the differ-ences were statistically significant(χ2=4.211,3.914,both P<0.05).Conclusion Tension-free hernia repair in patients with external abdominal hernia has significant value in reducing intraoperative blood loss, stabilizing serum inflamma-tory factor levels, relieving postoperative pain, and reducing the recurrence rate and complication rate.
