Effect of Extended Resection in the Treatment of Granulomatous Lobular Mastitis
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of extended resection in the treatment of granulomatous lobular mastitis to determine its efficacy and safety as a potential treatment. Methods A total of Seventy-eight patients with granulomatous lobular mastitis admitted to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Ningde Maternal and Child Health Hospital from December 2019 to November 2021 were conveniently selected as the study objects. They were divided into two groups by random number table method, the control group received traditional tumor resection(n =39)and observation group received extended resection(n=39).The postoperative pain relief, recovery time,recur-rence rate, and complication rate of two groups were compared. Results The incidence of complications in the observa-tion group and the control group were 5.13%and 20.51%,respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.523,P<0.05).Visual Analogue Scale score and recurrence rate of observation group were lower than those of control group, the postoperative recovery time of patients in the observation group was significantly shorter, and the dif-ferences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion The results of this study suggest that extended resec-tion has significant advantages in the treatment of granulomatous lobular mastitis, especially in terms of postoperative recovery and reduction of recurrence. This finding opens up new possibilities for clinical treatment, but due to sample size limitations and geographical limitations, more extensive various studies are needed.
