Comparing the Clinical Efficacy of Laparoscopic and Open Thyroid Sur-gery in the Treatment of Benign Thyroid Tumors
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of laparoscopic and open thyroid surgery in the treatment of be-nign thyroid tumors. Methods A total of 74 patients with benign thyroid tumor admitted to the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery of Tongren People's Hospital from June 2022 to May 2023 were conveniently selected as the study objects and were divided into two groups with 37 cases in each group by random number table method. The control group received open thyroid surgery and the observation group received laparoscope-assisted small-incision surgery. The surgical indicators, pain, complications and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results The incision length, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, extubation and hospital stay in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).The pain scores of the observation group at 4,12 and 24 h after operation were lower than those of the control group, and the dif-ference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 2.70%,lower than that in the control group(16.22%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=3.945,P<0.05).After intervention, all quality of life scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the dif-ference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with open surgery, endoscopic small incision surgery for benign thyroid tumors can reduce bleeding, shorten recovery time, reduce the risk of complications, and im-prove the quality of life.
