Effects of Integrated Psychological Care Combined with Refined Dietary Intervention on Nutritional Status and Psychological Status of Postopera-tive Patients with Esophageal Cancer
Objective To explore the effects of integrated psychological care combined with refined dietary interven-tion on nutritional status and psychological status of postoperative esophageal cancer patients. Methods A total of 90 primary esophageal cancer patients who underwent radical surgery at Fujian Provincial Hospital from April 2022 and April 2023 were simply and randomly selected as study subjects, and were divided divided into two groups by random number table method, with 45 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received perioperative conven-tional care, and the patients in the observation group added integrated psychological care combined with refined di-etary intervention on the basis of conventional care. The nutritional status, psychological status, and hope level of pa-tients in the two groups were compared. Results At 24 h after surgery, there was no statistically significant difference in the levels of prealbumin, albumin, and transferrin between the two groups of patients(all P>0.05);there was no sta-tistically significant difference in the scores of terror symptoms, depression mood, hostile attitude, and anxiety between the two groups of patients on the symptom self-assessment scale at 24 h after surgery(all P>0.05);there was no statis-tically significant difference in the scoring values of the dimensions of positive behaviors, maintaining close relation-ships with others, and current and future attitudes in the Herth Hope Scale at 24 h after surgery(all P>0.05).On the day of discharge, the levels of prealbumin, albumin, and transferrin in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05);the scoring values of horror symptoms, depressive mood, hostile attitude and anxiety in the symptom self-assessment scale were lower than those of the con-trol group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05);the scoring values of the dimensions of posi-tive behavior(14.05±1.82)points,maintaining close relationships with others(14.07±1.78)points,and current and fu-ture attitudes(14.15±1.63)points in the Herth Hope Scale were higher than those of the control group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(t=3.575,5.095,5.930,all P<0.05).Conclusion The application of integrated psy-chological care combined with refined dietary intervention in esophageal cancer patients can effectively improve their postoperative nutritional status, reduce negative emotions, and raise the level of hope.
