Effect of Nasal Endoscopic Repair on Length of Stay and Complications in Patients with Cerebrospinal Fluid Rhinorrhea
Objective To compare the clinical effect of nasal endoscopic repair and traditional intracranial repair in the treatment of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.Methods A total of 162 patients with cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea ad-mitted to Jiangning Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from January 2021 to December 2022 were con-veniently selected as the study objects,and were divided into control group(n=81)and study group(n=81)by random number table method.The control group underwent traditional intracranial repair,and the study group underwent na-sal endoscopic repair.The levels of Tumor Necrosis Factor-α(TNF-α),C-reactive Protein(CRP)and Interleukin-6(IL-6)in the two groups were detected before and 2 days after surgery,respectively.The operation success rate,hospi-tal stay and complications were compared between the two groups.Results The success rate of operation in the study group(96.29%)was higher than that in the control group(87.65%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2= 4.098,P<0.05).The duration of hospitalization in the study group was shorter than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).Before operation,there was no significant difference in the levels of inflammatory factors between the two groups(P>0.05).After operation,the levels of TNF-α,CRP and IL-6 in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.001).The complication rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Endoscopic nasal repair has shown significant advantages in the treatment of cerebro-spinal fluid rhinorrhea.Its success rate of surgery is higher,the operation process has less impact on inflammatory fac-tors,can shorten the length of hospital stay of patients,and the risk of postoperative complications is lower,which has a positive effect on improving the prognosis of patients.
