Effect of Periodontal Basic Therapy Combined with Minocycline on Mod-erate and Severe Periodontitis
Objective To explore the effect of periodontal basic therapy combined with minocycline in patients with moderate and severe periodontitis.Methods A total of 55 patients with moderate and severe periodontitis treated in Xintai People's Hospital from October 2020 to October 2023 were conveniently selected as the study objects.They were divided into reference group(27 cases)and observation group(28 cases)according to the order of hospitalization.The reference group was given basic periodontal treatment,and the observation group was given basic periodontal treatment combined with minocycline treatment.The therapeutic effect,periodontal index and gingival crevicular fluid inflammation index were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of observation group(92.86%)was higher than that of reference group(66.67%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.892,P<0.05).Compared to before treatment,After treatment,Sulcus Bleeding Index(SBI),Attachment Level(AL),Plaque Index(Plaque Index),Periodontal pocket Depth(PD)of the two groups were detected,and the observation group was lower than in the reference group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Transforming Growth Factor-β(TGF-β),Interleukin-6(IL-6),Tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and other gingival crevicular fluid indica-tors all decreased,and the observation group had less necrosis than the reference group,and the differences were sta-tistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with moderate and severe periodontitis,periodontal basic treatment combined with minocycline is beneficial to improve the curative effect of patients,and can effectively im-prove the periodontal condition of patients and reduce the periodontal inflammation.
