Effect of Continuous Nursing on the Recovery of Swallowing Function in Patients with Dysphagia after Stroke
Objective To investigate the effect of continuous nursing on swallowing function recovery of patients with dysphagia after stroke. Methods A total of 80 patients with dysphagia after stroke admitted to Lishui District People's Hospital in Nanjing from March 2021 to March 2022 were randomly selected as the research subjects. They were ran-domly divided into two groups using random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group re-ceived routine follow-up nursing, while the observation group received continuous nursing. The swallowing status, swallowing dysfunction score, nutritional score, and quality of life score between two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of swallowing status of the observation group was(1.42±0.22)points,lower than the con-trol group's(2.29±0.41)points,and the scores of swallowing dysfunction of the observation group was(21.47±1.22)points,lower than the control group's(25.34±2.19)points,and the differences were statistically significant(t=11.825,9.764,both P<0.001).Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in nutritional scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the nutritional scores of both groups were higher than before intervention, and the scores of observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P<0.05).The scores of various dimensions of quality of life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing for pa-tients with swallowing disorder after stroke can promote the recovery of swallowing function, improve the nutritional status and enhance the quality of life.
