Effect of Modified Weijing Decoction in Reducing Pulmonary Inflamma-tion after Thoracic Surgery Based on Immune Balance and Oxidation/anti-oxidant Balance
Objective To investigate the effect of modified Weijing Decoction on pulmonary inflammation after tho-racic surgery based on immune balance and oxidation/antioxidant balance.Methods 62 patients with pneumonia after thoracic surgery with phlegm-heat obstructing lung admitted to Taihe Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affili-ated to Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from March 2022 to August 2023 were conveniently selected as the re-search subjects.They were randomly divided into the control group(n=31)and the study group(n=31)using random number table method.The control group received routine treatments such as oxygen inhalation,anti-inflammatory,phlegm resolving,and symptomatic supportive treatment,while the study group received treatment with modified Wei-jing decoction on the basis of routine treatment.The safety indexes,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,immune and stress response related cells and factors were observed and compared before and after treatment.Results Before and after treatment,there was no statistically significant difference in blood routine,urine routine,liver function and renal function indexes between the two groups of patients(all P>0.05).The arterial blood gas index,C-reactive protein,and white blood cell count of the two groups of patients all showed certain improvements after treat-ment,and the study group was better than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of both groups decreased,and the study group were lower than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After treatment,both groups of cells and factors related to immune and oxidative stress improved compared to before treatment,and the improvement degree of the study group were better than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total clinical effective rate of the study group(96.77%)was higher than that of the control group(90.32%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=6.552,P=0.010).Conclusion Weijing Decoction has a good effect on reducing pulmonary inflammation after thoracic surgery,and can effectively balance immune indexes and oxidation/antioxidant indexes.
