Evaluation of Clinical Effect of One-time Root Canal Therapy for Senile Chronic Pulpitis
Objective To explore the efficacy of one-time root canal therapy for senile chronic pulpitis. Methods A to-tal of 86 patients with chronic pulpitis treated in Taizhou Third People's Hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were convenient selected as the study objects and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,43 case in each group.Multiple root canals and one-time root canals were given, respectively. The post-operative pain and clinical effect of two groups were compared. Results The pain response rate of observation group was lower than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in treatment effective rate between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein in the observation group were(2.87±0.56)ng/mL,(1.01±0.35)μg/L and(3.65±0.64)mg/L,respectively,which were lower than those in the control group and the differences were statisti-cally significant(t=9.639,9.623,14.447,all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in total complication rate be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion One-time root canal therapy in elderly patients with chronic pulpitis is helpful to reduce postoperative pain and complications, and the clinical effect is significant.
