Application of Extended Nursing in Patients with Radiotherapy for Middle and Advanced Esophageal Cancer
Objective To explore the effect of extended nursing in patients with middle and advanced esophageal can-cer treated with radiotherapy.Methods A total of 70 patients with middle and advanced esophageal cancer received ra-diotherapy in Yancheng First People's Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were simply randomly selected as the study objects,and were divided into the control group and the observation group by random drawing method,with 35 cases in each group.The control group used conventional nursing and the observation group used extended nursing.The nutritional status,self-care ability,mental health level and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results The total score of Patient Generated Subjective Global Assessment in the observation group after nursing was better than that in the control group,the scores of all the terms of Exercise of Self-care Agency in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).After nurs-ing,the scores of Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and Self-Rating Depression Scale of the two groups were decreased,and those of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The Quality of Life Questionnaire-core 30 score of the observation group(88.25±4.42)points was higher than that of the control group(79.86±3.79)points after nursing,the difference was statistically significant(t=8.525,P<0.05).Conclusion After receiving extended nursing,the nutritional status of patients with middle and ad-vanced esophageal cancer was significantly improved,the self-care ability was increased,anxiety and depression were reduced,and the overall quality of life was improved.
