Clinical Study on the Treatment of Humeral Shaft Fracture by He's Osteo-therapy Combined with External Fixator
Objective To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of humeral shaft fracture by He's osteotherapy combined with external fixator.Methods The clinical data of ninety cases of humeral shaft fracture admitted to Xiang-yang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2011 to December 2020 were retrospectively selected and divided into three groups according to treatment methods.Observation group with thirty cases were treated by He's os-teotherapy combined with external fixator.Control group I with thirty cases were treated by internal fixation with steel plate.Control group II with thirty cases were treated by He's osteotherapy(same as observation group).The fracture healing was compared,and the shoulder and elbow joint functions were evaluated by Constant-Murley shoulder joint rating scale and Mayo elbow joint rating scale.Results The effective rate of observation group was 100%,higher than 93.33%of control group I and 90.00%of control group II,and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=9.109,5.560,both P<0.05).The shoulder joint function scores in the observation group were higher than those in the con-trol group I and control group II at 2,4,6 and 24 weeks after surgery,and the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).After 2 years,there was no statistically significant difference between observation group and control group I(P>0.05),and both were better than control group II,and the difference was statistically significant(both P<0.05).The elbow joint function scores of observation group and control group I was higher than that of control group II at the 2nd week after surgery,and the difference was statistically significant(both P<0.05).At 4,6,24 weeks and 2 years later,there were no statistically significant significant differences in elbow joint function recovery among the 3 groups(all P>0.05).Conclusion He's osteotherapy combined with external fixator can effectively treat humeral shaft fracture with high safety,good postoperative recovery.
