Objective To analyze the effect of supplemented Shashen Maidong Decoction plus Chinese herbal fumiga-tion in the treatment of dry eye disease and the score of corneal fluorescein staining.Methods 80 patients suffering from dry eye disease from Tianshui Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to December 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects,and they were divided into control group and observation group by ran-dom drawing method,with 40 cases in each group.Chinese herbal fumigation treatment was used in control group,and supplemented Shashen Maidong decoction plus Chinese herbal fumigation treatment was used in observation group.The near and far visual acuity level,corneal fluorescein staining score and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symp-tom scores were compared between the two groups.Results There was no statistically significant difference in near and far visual acuity between the two groups before treatment(both P>0.05).After treatment,observation group had better near and far visual acuity,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After treatment,the corneal fluorescein staining score in the observation group(0.91±0.23)points,which was lower than that in the control group(1.32±0.41)points,and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.515,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in TCM syndrome scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of the observation group were lower than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion After using supplemented shashen maidong dection pius Chinese herbal funiga-tion in the clinical treatment of patients with dry eye,the symptoms of dry eye were significantly improved,and the score of corneal fluorescein staining was also significantly improved.
