Effect of Montelukast Sodium Combined with Procaterol on Serum IgE and EOS Levels in Children with Chronic Cough
Objective To explore the efficacy of procaterol combined with montelukast sodium in the treatment of chil-dren with chronic cough and the effects of serum immunoglobulin E and eosinophil levels. Methods A total of 100 children with chronic cough admitted to Yingdu Branch of Nan'an General Hospital from November 2021 to Decem-ber 2022 were simple randomly selected as the study objects. They were randomly divided into control group and study group by envelope method, with 50 cases each. The control group was treated with procatterol and the study group was treated with Montelukast sodium combined with procatterol.Symptom and sign index scores, serum immuno-globulin E and eosinophil levels, inflammatory factor levels and adverse reactions occurrence were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the score of clinical symptoms and signs in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum immunoglobulin E and eosinophils in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The levels of tumor necrosis factor α,interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein in study group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 6.00%,but there was no statistically significant difference compared with the control group(16.00%)(χ2=2.554,P>0.05).Conclusion Montelukast sodium and procatterol are used to treat children with chronic cough in clinical practice. It can be concluded that the two drugs can alleviate symptoms, serum immuno-globulin E and eosinophilic granulocyte levels are significantly decreased, inflammatory response is significantly im-proved,and the safety is better.
