Analysis of Efficacy and Safety of Carbamazepine Combined with Sodium Valproate in the Treatment of Patients with Early Epilepsy
Objective To analyze the effects of single administration(carbamazepine)and combined administration(so-dium valproate+carbamazepine)on early epilepsy. Methods A total of 100 patients with early-stage epilepsy admit-ted to the Department of Neurology of Shanxian Central Hospital of Shandong Province from June 2020 to December 2023 were randomly selected as the study objects.According to the clinical implementation of treatment measures, they were divided into two groups, with 50 cases in the single drug group(carbamazepine)and 50 cases in the com-bined drug group(sodium valproate+carbamazepine). The efficacy, safety, basic therapeutic indexes, cognitive func-tion,oxidative stress level and nerve conduction velocity were compared between the two groups. Results After the in-tervention,the therapeutic effectiveness, cognitive function score and superoxide dismutase in the combined drug group were higher than those in the single drug group, the malondialdehyde and peroxidase were lower than those in the single drug group, and the nerve conduction speed was faster than that in the single drug group, and the differ-ences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).The daily frequency and duration of seizures in the combined medication group were less than those in the single medication group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion The formation of early epilepsy is very unfavorable to the health, life and work of patients. In order to achieve efficient and safe treatment,it is recommended to use sodium valproate+carbamazepine. This regi-men can not only improve the level of oxidative stress, but also improve the cognitive function of patients, and the therapeutic effect meets the clinical needs.
