Effect of Minocycline Hydrochloride Ointment and Metronidazole Tablets on the Oral Environment and Safety of Patients with Periodontitis
Objective To analyze the effect of minocycline hydrochloride ointment and metronidazole tablets on the oral environment and safety of patients with periodontitis.Methods 84 patients diagnosed with periodontitis by Zhangpu County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2021 to October 2023 were conveniently se-lected as study objects and grouped by randomized table method with 42 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metronidazole tablets,and the observation group was treated with minocycline hydrochloride ointment and metronidazole tablets.Compared the efficacy of medication,oral environment,gingival fluid inflammation and safety of medication in the two groups.Results The total effective rate of medication in the observation group(95.24%)was higher than that in the control group(80.95%),and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.086,P<0.05).Af-ter treatment,the gingival sulcus bleeding index(SBI)and plaque index(PLI)of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).After treatment,the detec-tion values of various gingival sulcus fluid inflammation indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differencs were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The percentage of adverse drug reactions between the two groups was close,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Minocy-cline hydrochloride ointment and metronidazole tablets can enhance the therapeutic effect on periodontitis,clear the inflammation of gingival sulcus fluid more effectively,and improve the oral health environment of patients,and the medication is relatively safe and reliable.
