Effect of Transpedicle Internal Fixation and Vertebroplasty on the Im-provement of Spinal Dysfunction in Thoracolumbar Burst Fracture and Its Influence on Imaging Indexes
Objective Patients with thoracolumbar burst fractures were included to analyze the effect of transpedicle fixation plus vertebroplasty. Methods A total of 84 patients with thoracoland lumbar burst fracture admitted to Teng-zhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to August 2023 were conveniently selected as the study objects and divided into two groups with 42 cases each according to 1:1 random drawing method. The control group was treated with transpedicular internal fixation, and the observation group was treated with vertebroplasty. The different treatment effects between the two groups were compared. Results The operation time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group, and the hospitalization time was shorter than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).The Japanese Orthopaedic Association Score of the observa-tion group was(14.45±2.62)points,which was higher than(11.52±2.11)points of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=5.645,P<0.05).In the observation group, the Oswestry disability index was(17.45±4.23)points,the Visual Analogue Scale was(1.53±0.44)points,the compression rates of the anterior and posterior edges of the vertebral body were(6.47±2.26)%,(6.44±2.26)%,and the Cobb Angle was(3.44±1.21)°,lower than those of the control group(23.56±4.66)points,(2.44±0.42)points,(10.52±2.32)%,(9.65±2.55)%,(5.64±1.25)°,and the differences were statistically significant(t=6.292,9.695,8.104,6.105,8.195,all P<0.05).There were no signifi-cant differences in intraoperative blood loss and incidence of complications between the two groups(both P>0.05).Conclusion Transpedicular internal fixation and vertebroplasty can effectively reduce the pain of patients, restore the function of the lumbar spine, and maintain the height of the injured vertebra, with fewer complications, which is con-ducive to the early discharge of patients.
