Effect of Ureteral Holmium Laser Lithotripsy in the Treatment of Elderly Ureteral Calculi and the Influence of Stone Clearance
Objective To investigate the effect of holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of elderly ureteral calculi and the effect of stone clearance.Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with ureteral calculi admitted to the Depart-ment of Urology of Jiangyin Lingang Hospital from January to December 2022 were simple randomly selected as study objects and grouped according to random number table method.The control group(n=40)was treated with conven-tional extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy,and the observation group(n=40)was treated with ureteral holmium laser lithotripsy.The surgical indexes and stone clearance rate,as well as the levels of inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The intraoperative blood loss,hospital stay time,implantation time,nephrostomy tube retention time were shorter than that of the control group,and the operation time was longer than that of the control group,and the stone clearance rate was higher than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the levels of inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes between the two groups(both P>0.05).Af-ter treatment,the inflammatory factors and oxidative stress indexes of the observation group were better than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(both P<0.05).Conclusion Ureteral holmium laser lithotripsy for elderly patients with ureteral calculi can improve the stone clearance rate and clinical effect.
